Connecting to Resources

As a group of volunteers, we don’t work for the city, but we can try to connect people to services. If they consent to provide their information, if it seems appropriate, and if it will do no harm, then calling 211 or using the Los Angeles Homeless Outreach Portal (LA HOP) are good starting points.

Services in Koreatown

Call 211

211 can have long wait times, but it can provide immediate assistance, particularly for families with children. However, you cannot call on someone’s behalf. Only initiate a call yourself if you’re willing to wait with someone, as they will need to interview the person seeking help for access to services.

Submit a request on la-hop.org

If an individual is interested in outreach services, fill out the form as a “Concerned Resident” at lahsa.org (choose “Make a Request”). Only a person’s location is necessary to obtain services; however, the best-case scenario is to obtain as much of the following information as possible:

Full name (first and last, but street name or nickname is fine); date of birth; contact information (phone number); location; description of person; outreach services requested (e.g. housing, medical attention needed); best times to visit.

  • Once you have this information, feel free to forward the confirmation email to outreach@ktownforall.org. You may also use the outreach@ktownforall.org email for the request itself. The committee co-chairs will follow up with CES outreach coordinators.

  • Be sure to consider your own privacy and confidentiality during this process.

  • Our members and network have a collective knowledge of available resources and programs. If someone requests help in accessing services, ask members you know or post in the Discord for advice.
