A report by Ktown for All

Each year, the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count estimates the number of homeless people in Los Angeles. While the Homeless Count numbers are important data for local, state, and federal officials, they’re also a measuring stick used by LA politicians to track their own progress.

Counting homelessness is about more than just counting people, and tracking progress is about more than a single number going up or down. It’s also about the resources our local government provides for unhoused people and the overall way the city treats some of its most vulnerable residents.
